1st meeting, 12th December @White Lion Pub.

We are put of a collective, the main point of creating a collective is work together to create opportunities for us as artists. Therefore, it was decided that there would be no entry fee, as we want to encourage people work together. It was also discussed that if this exhibition is successful that we might get an opportunity move this exhibition in other locations (i.e. St. Andrews church). We felt this was better done together as a collective.

It was also discussed that we will have a donations boxes to be put out for the charity Amnesty International to reflect the theme of Into the Light.

We considered getting a license, as required by the St Helen’s Church, but decided that the cost would be prohibitive. We it was decided that we would have a non-alcoholic event on the Saturday. In part because we are having the children from St Helen’s exhibit alongside us, we thought having the preview on the Saturday would create the most footfall.

We discussed that art exhibitions are often we attended at St Helen’s and that the BBC will be invited for the preview along with people other local art organisations. We will be advertising this event locally.

That there will be a printed lantern workshop happening at St Helen’s Primary School that will be displayed at the Into the Light exhibition.

IF YOU THINK YOU CAN DO DEMONSTRATIONS OR TALKS ON THE SATURDAY OR HAVE ANY FURTHER SUGGESTIONS PLEASE EMAIL severnsideartcollective@gmail.com
