Evoking a change in our state of being, to acknowledge the creative energy within all of us that within the light we are stronger than separated in the dark.     Into the Light Exhibition: CLOSED for submission.

    We are looking for local artists to Severnside Art Collective to submit artwork for forthcoming exhibition at St Helen’s Church, Alveston in South Gloucestershire (29th Jan to the 1st Feb, 2020). The theme focuses on moving from darkness in light, that evokes a change of state of being, to acknowledge the creative energy within all of us. That within the light we are more together than separated than in the dark.   Into the light, will be an exhibition that will explore a sense of this movement in an uncertain and troubled world that we still hope for a better future.     12th December 2019 17.30 – 18.30 @The White Lion, 10 High St, Thornbury, Bristol BS35 2AQ. As our next exhibition is fast approaching this coming January the 29th – Feb 1st at St Helen’s Church in Alveston we thought it would be good to get together and have an informal meeting. This exhibition is open to all members of the Severnside Art Collective and is FREE* to enter with the focus on working together to showcase the talented artists in our area.     Textiles at Black Rock

    27th of November 10.30 -12.30 AM Share in an afternoon with the artist Caroline Stealey learning about her practice as a textile artist. We will be exploring a ‘sense-of- place’ at Black Rock through photography and drawing. Black Rock sits between the two Severn bridges where an intriguing mix of abandoned man-made structures and rubble meets with the tidal forces of the river Severn. We will be entwining with natural textiles and found sea-glass, stones, pebbles and discovering how this connects us to a ‘sense-of-place’.
